Image of the Week -- Wk. 17

This is one of my first good shots that I took with my Canon digital camera. I haven't really taken much photography lately, and I would really like to get back out there while the weather is nice.

Image of the Week -- Wk. 15

I know that I posted a new Image of the Week yesterday, but I have a reason to post this picture (which turned out wonderfully) and I figured that others might enjoy it as well.

Image of the Week -- Wk 14

In my design work I am always trying to come up with new and interesting patterns to supplement or communicate in a print. It is awe inspiring to see such brilliant patterns created in nature by the omnipotent Master of design.

Image of the Week -- Wk. 13

Thought this might be a fun pic for the spring time. Captured this last summer with my Canon 350D at the farm of friend. Cattle are pretty fun to observe... It seems pretty amazing how docile such a large, powerful animal can be.

Image of the Week -- Wk. 11

A photograph of a cenote in the Yucatan area, Mexico. Swimming here was a blast, the water was crystal and cool. An unbelievable history surrounds the cenotes of this region which makes the experience even more enjoyable. Taken with my Lomo LC-A+.

Image of the Week -- Wk. 10

Something a little different from my usual photography, this a black and white picture of a statue of Mary residing in the gardens at St. Mary's Cathedral outside of Cincinnati, OH. A really great statue, I took the photo with my digital and then severely altered the contrast to give the photo a more ominous look (reminds me of an assassin or such). Anyway, I know it isn't my general style but I hope you like it.

Image of the Week -- Wk. 9

Basking in the heat of the sun... That's how I felt today, after three consecutive days of snow the sun finally came out to heat things up again and it felt good. An amazing male lion at midday lying in the filtered sun, shot with my Canon digital last summer. I can't wait until summer comes around again.

Image of the Week -- Wk. 8

I used my macro lens for the first time when I photographed this little beetle last Summer. He was hanging around by my front door when I spotted him and by the time I got my camera ready to photograph him, he had move onto the broom. Got some really detailed shots of him (the colors of his shell are quite amazing; no Photoshop adjustments made). He was also the inspiration for the Eldritch t-shirt design, available at the shop.

Image of the Week -- Wk. 7

It was around 30 degrees outside today so I decided to post this as the image of the week to inspire thoughts of warmer and happier times. This image was taken on Panama Beach in Florida with a great afternoon temperature of 81 degrees. Shot with my Canon digital.

Image of the Week -- Wk. 6

The latest image for display features Japanese Koi, one of my favorite symbols to use to depict Asian culture in my work. These specimens were very beautiful but not quite as large as some that I have seen. This was shot with my Canon digital via a polarizing lens filter. Hope it helps to inspire for the day.

Image of the Week -- Wk. 5

For anyone who has been keeping up with the Image of the Week posts, they have all been shot with my Lomo film camera, but it is Valentines Day today, so in light of the mood of the day I decided to go with a flower picture. This flower (maybe a magnolia?) was a blossom from a tree and was shot with my Canon Digital Rebel. The flowers were a light pink color, but in the afternoon light of the fading sun they came across as more purple than pink. Hope you like it, have a happy Valentines Day.

Image of the Week -- Wk. 4

Image of the Week, wk. 4. The last featured image of the week was of a dolphin, taken at a resort in the Mayan Riviera last year. This weeks image was taken at the same time, but features a manatee. Manatees are fantastic creatures and I almost regret not being able to swim with them, more than not being able to interact with the dolphins. Anyway, hope you like it.

Image of the Week -- Wk. 3

Image of the Week, wk. 3. This shot was taken at a resort I stayed at on the Mayan Riviera in Mexico last year. The resort had its own marina where there were dolphins, seals, manatees and other aquatic life that you could view or interact with. You could pay to swim with this dolphin but I didn't find out that the facility had such offerings until the last day I was there, and it was to late... At least I was able to watch them for a while and get a few good shots with my Lomo. Shot with Fuji 100 speed Supera.

Image of the Week -- Wk. 2

Image of the Week, wk. 2. This is a shot of the grill on an old Chevrolet truck that has been sitting behind my family's barn for about 30 years. Needless to say, it is becoming infused with the ground and plant life around it. The shot was taken with my Lomo LC-A+ with 100 speed Lomography film? or whatever film it is that they ship with the camera... It was one of the first pictures I took with the Lomo.

Image of the Week -- Wk. 1

This is the first Image of the Week on this blog. It is an unfocused image of a small puppy taken with my Lomo LC-A+ camera using iso100 Fuji Supera Film. Let me know what you think.
